UK's coolest doggle-wearing dog
  Bugsy

Dog with eye condition walks in sun again

Bugsy, from Tividale, West Midlands, has been dubbed the UK's coolest dog, thanks to the pair of "doggles" he wears.

An eye condition known as pannus causes discomfort, redness and pigment changes to Bugsy's eyes when exposed to ultraviolet light.

The condition was preventing him from going on walks on sunny days.

Bugsy's owner, Mr Jones, felt he was really suffering and would restrict their walks to darker hours – which was getting more and more difficult as the summer approached.

So he took Bugsy to White Cross Vets for advice.

Bonnie Leibowitch, the practice's clinic director, said: "Eye drops helped, but Mr Jones wanted to do more."

After considering their options, they decided to try fitting Bugsy with a pair of doggles, which have been a huge success,
they say.

"Bugsy can now live a normal life and enjoy a walk whatever the weather so we're delighted with the results.

"Plus," she said, "he looks extremely stylish – he has to be the coolest dog in the UK!"
