College open day attracts 10,000 visitors
Plumpton College showcase land-based courses

At a recent open day, Plumpton College attracted 10,000 visitors, who enjoyed a fun, family day and spoke to staff and students about the range of land-based courses on offer.

Based in East Sussex, Plumpton College is set in a 900 hectare estate within the South Downs National Park. The open day showcased the college's range of courses - from veterinary nursing, animal management and equine studies, to metal smithing, wine production and agriculture.

Animal care students organised a dog show for the open day, and gave informative displays of the unit's range of small animals.

Equine staff and students entertained visitors with riding displays, dressage and show jumping, while livestock, falconry and gun dog demonstrations were given.

The many other demonstrations covered a broad spectrum, including wine tastings, brickwork and garden displays and cheese samples made in the new College Dairy.

As well as the opportunity to learn more about the college and its courses, Plumpton College provided an enjoyable day for the whole family, with tours of the estate by tractor, children's activities and a craft and trade fair.

Plumpton College offers programmes from school courses through to degrees, and have centres in Netherfield, Flimwell, Robertsbridge, Brighton and Snowdonia, North Wales.

Visit the college's website for information on upcoming events.
