Hunt, Point, Retrieve Championship
New event announced by Kennel Club

A Hunt, Point, Retrieve (HPR) Championship will be held this year, the Kennel Club has announced.

The event, which will take place at the Swinton Park estate in North Yorkshire, has been designed specifically to test dogs' quartering, hunting and retrieving skills.

It will also give owners of HPR breeds the chance to demonstrate the working skills of their dogs in a competitive setting.

"The fact that the Kennel Club has decided to hold a Hunt, Point, Retrieve Championship is a tribute to the hard work put in by the HPR community," explained Caroline Kisko, the Kennel Club's secretary.

"The HPR Championship will join the ranks of the existing Cocker Spaniel Championship and Retriever Championship as a prestigious pinnacle in the working gundog calendar for the respective breeds.

"We are very much looking foreword to seeing the wonderful level of talent showcased by the HPR breeds."

The event will be held on November 15 and 16, 2013. More details will be released nearer the time.
