BSAVA 2013 kick starts
Congress opens to thousands of delegates

The BSAVA Congress 2013 has today begun, bringing the small animal veterinary profession together for a four-day fun-packed event at Birmingham's ICC/NIA.

With more than 5,500 delegates and more than 250 exhibitors, the congress provides a valuable opportunity to network, meet organisations and gain CPD.

This year's scientific programme has a fresh approach, with six individual lecture streams that change each day. Streams today include feline foundation, renal disease, and top tips for experienced vets.

Such lectures are covering a varied range of topics, from forelimb lameness in young dogs, to eyelid tumours in the dog and cat. The line up of speakers is similarly diverse.

Further equally-valuable lectures are also running elsewhere in the building, as well as a host of one-off events, product launches, and awards ceremonies.

There is so much to do and see, it is difficult to squeeze it all in. Though the congress is still young, it is certainly already in full-swing!
