RCVS announces Registers are available to buy
RCVS Register of Members of 2012 no longer posted free of charge

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) has announced that this years printed copies of the Register of Member and List/Register of Veterinary Nurses will no longer be posted out free of charge.

Instead, the Registers are now available to purchase. The 2012 Register of Members costs £25 for members and £40 for non-members, and the List/Register of Veterinary Nurses costs £10.

Veterinary practices and the public are able to use the free ‘Check the Registers’ feature available on the RCVS website to check who is registered as a veterinary surgeon or is a listed or registered as a veterinary nurse. This information is updated daily.

RCVS Head of Operations, Corrie McCann, commented on the change: “Printing and distributing paper copies of the Register and List/Register costs around £150,000 each year, excluding staff time, and making this cost saving has helped us to freeze annual fees. There is also a significant environmental benefit from the reduced paper usage.”

Copies of either publication can be purchased via the RCVS website under ‘Publications’. Members need to log into the members’ area of the website to purchase the Register for £25.
