Discover Dogs breaks records
Kennel Club says 'thank you'

The Kennel Club has announced that Discover Dogs 2012 was the most successful in the 17 year history of the show, with attendance numbers higher than ever before.

A total of 30,202 people attended the two day event, which celebrated dogs and helped people to choose the right dog for their lifestyle, from a responsible breeder.

The attendance figure was up by 10 per cent on last year and broke 2010's record of 28,000 visitors, in a time when other events are seeing a decline due to the economic climate.

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, said: "Discover Dogs is a unique event which gives people a chance to see more than 200 breeds of pedigree dog under one roof, and to find out about their many advantages, as well as making a responsible decision about whether they are the right breed for their lifestyle.

"It also gives Kennel Club Breed Rescue organisations the opportunity to highlight the great work that they are doing every day. Discover Dogs helps people to find out about training and caring for their dogs in a fun and engaging way, meaning that the event really does make a difference for dogs."
