A successful year for vet physio association
ASSVAP is celebrating its first birthday

The Association for the Scientific Study of Veterinary and Animal Physiotherapy (ASSVAP) is celebrating a year of success on its first birthday.

Set up 12 months ago, the ASSVAP promotes the scientific approach to animal welfare and allows its members to exchange information - demonstrating veterinary physiotherapy as an evidence-based profession.

Its members comprise vets, vet nurses, vet physiotherapists and students from each profession.

ASSVAP secretary Elizabeth Elliott said: "This has been a very exciting 12 months. Not only have we provided a number of exceptionally popular CPD opportunities to promote veterinary physiotherapy, but we will shortly be announcing a major collaboration with a UK University to provide a BSc in veterinary physiotherapy, leading to membership of ASSVAP.

"We are now the second largest veterinary physiotherapy association in the country, and have recently expanded into the USA and mainland Europe, so the next 12 months are likely to be even more exciting."
