Pet Fit Club winners revealed
Winning slimmers lose combined weight of 86 kilos

The winner's of the PDSA Pet Fit Club have been revealed, and have lost a combined weight of 86 kilos (189 pounds).

The biggest weight loss of all the animals was a seven-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel called Jack. The dog, originally from London, was rehomed earlier this year and was 105 per cent overweight.

Jack weighed a shocking 20.5 kilos (45 pounds) before his new owner enrolled him onto the Pet Fit Club diet. It took only six months for Jack to lose a massive 31 per cent of his body weight - taking him down to a much healthier 14.1 kilos (31 pounds).

Other animals which were commended for their weight-loss achievements included cats Billie and Fifi, who each lost just under 25 per cent of their body weight, as well as dogs Billy, Merlin and Molly, who each lost just under 30 per cent of their body weight.

Bobby the rabbit was also highly commended for her weight loss, after her dewlap grew so big she could no longer groom herself. She went from weighing 2.3 kilos (5 pounds) to 1.7 kilos (3 pounds).

Rose Welsh, owner of weight-loss champion Jack, said: "When Jack first came to us he was morbidly obese and could barely walk. Today he is a different dog and we call him Jumping Jack instead of Jumbo Jack, as he jumps overtime he barks now."

Rose added: "He is fit, healthy and happy - everything a pet should be - and we are absolutely thrilled."
