BVNA Congress a great success!
Claire Fraser receives a greyhound statue from Dr Higgins
The 39th annual Congress of the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA) is well and truly underway.

Taking place at the International Centre, Telford, hundreds of veterinary nursing delegates are taking part in one of the biggest VN Congresses to date.

The Congress officially opened yesterday (Friday 5th October) with an opening speech by key speaker Dr Andrew Higgins, chairman of the BVNA's chosen charity of the year, the Retired Greyhound's Trust.

Speaking warmly of his relationship with BVNA over the past year, Dr Higgins described it as "a great honour" to have been supported by the Association and expressed hopes that the charity and the BVNA will continue to work closely together.

BVNA President Claire Fraser was delighted to receive a commemorative statue of a greyhound from Dr Higgins as a tribute to their work together, calling it "an absolute honour."

Meanwhile, the commerical exhibition is filled with all sorts of companies, charities, associations and more, all eager to talk to the veterinary nursing community. The chocolate fountain, sponsored by vnonline.co.uk, is proving extremely popular and the vnonline wristband is visible on many delegates' arms!

Congratulations also go to Una Conway, winner of the Smart Car offered by Hill's Pet Nutrition. Many of the stands are offering competitions and giveaways, with the BVNA stand offering cupcakes to all. Don't miss out!
