FEI prohibited substances for 2013 approved

From 1 January 2013, the new Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) equine prohibited substance list will come into effect, following its approval by the FEI Bureau.

The changes include the addition of five substances; Cyclosporin, Tropicamide, Sarapin, Delmadinone acetate and Chlormadinone acetate, as well as amendments to others, for example, banned substances Fentanyl and Morphine will be moved to the Controlled Medication section as of 2013.

Graeme Cooke, FEI Veterinary Director, said: "The national federations and all the veterinarians involved in our sport are very much a part of the consultation process and all comments… were discussed by the List Group prior to the changes being finalised."
