Rabbit Awareness Week
Another year of success for RAW 2012

Rabbit Awareness Week (RAW) 2012, the national initiative to improve the health and welfare of Britain's rabbits, came to a close this weekend.

RAW is supported by numerous pet welfare groups and charities, including Wood Green Animals Charity, the RSPCA and the Rabbit Welfare Association, and ran from 15-22 September this year.

A video has been released to show the work achieved during the past week. It features staff at Woodgreen, who fronted the campaign, showing a group of children from the local area how to care for rabbits.

In the video, children learn about the five essential rabbit welfare needs; good environment, good diet, good behaviour, good company and good health. The staff also cover topics such as the importance of having your rabbit vaccinated for myxomatosis and rabbit hemorrhagic disease.
