Rabbit Awareness Week is fast approaching This year's Rabbit Awareness Week (RAW) is taking place on Monday 15 to Monday 22 September.
The annual event has been created in order to raise awareness of the welfare needs of rabbits. Being the third most popular pet - firmly behind cats and dogs - it is important that owners are well-informed and able to give the best care.
During RAW, experts including vets, pet retailers, welfare charities and manufacturers dedicate their time to educating the public about rabbits, dispelling common myths and misinformation about the species.
Various veterinary practices nationwide also offer free health clinics for local rabbits throughout the week.
Official partners of RAW include Panacur Rabbit, The Peoples Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) and Rabbit Welfare Association, amongst numerous other organisations. Together they promote the five rabbit welfare needs: environment, diet, behaviour, companionship and health.
