Appeal launched to find owner of abandoned poodle
Hope was found tied to a gate in Dorset.

The dog was found tied to a gate with a large tumour.

An appeal has been launched to track down the owner of an abandoned poodle with a large, untreated tumour.

The small black poodle, named Hope, came into the care of the RSPCA after being found tied to a gate off Station Road in Ferndown, Dorset, between September 14 and 15.

In addition to the tumour, she was riddled with fleas, visibly underweight and had severe matting and fur loss.

RSPCA Inspector Charlotte Le Brun, who is investigating the incident, said: “She’s such a friendly and affectionate dog. It’s heartbreaking to think she was abandoned at a time when she was so vulnerable and in need of help.

“We’re really keen to find out where Hope came from and how she was allowed to get into such a sorry state before being left. I would urge anyone who recognises her, or who may have information about her previous owner, to get in touch. All calls are treated in strict confidence.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact the RSPCA inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018, quoting incident number 01906696.
