The RCVS Academy has announced a selection of six free online sessions, designed to support veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses at different stages in their careers.
The webinars, each an hour long, can be used as part of participants’ annual continuing professional development (CPD), which can be recorded on the RCVS 1CPD platform.
The Academy Live series has been created based on the College’s pre-existing RCVS Academy courses. Attendees will be able to ask questions and join discussions with other veterinary professionals.
RCVS Academy’s sessions will start from 13 October, and each take place at 1pm.
Introduction to VetGDP (13 October, 1pm) discusses the purpose and structure pf the Veterinary Graduate Development Programme. The talk will also explore Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) and how they can be applied with the programme.
Client confidentiality (15 October, 1pm) will consider when vets and RVNs should breach client confidentiality, particularly when animal welfare or public safety is at risk.
VetGDP portfolio preparation (20 October, 1pm) is intended to support new graduate vets. Participants will learn how they can prepare their VetGDP portfolio for submission, ensuring the portfolio is sufficient in content and meets the required format.
Designed for clinical supervisors, Clinical supervisor: Tackling tutorials (5 November, 1pm) explains how participants should conduct tutorials with student veterinary nurses.
CPD: Record and reflect (6 November, 1pm) explores how participants can use the RCVS 1CPD platform to record and reflect upon relevant CPD. Meanwhile RVN starting out: Building confidence (9 December, 1pm) supports students and newly-qualified RVNs to build their professional identities with a selection of tools and tips.
