Cycling event to raise funds for Ukraine Appeal and BEVA Trust
BEVA Sportive is taking place on Saturday, 15 July.
Cyclists of all abilities are invited to take part.

After a three year break, the third BEVA Sportive event will take place on Saturday, 15 July 2023. Cyclists of all abilities are invited to take part and can choose from three different routes. The event will help raise money for BEVA’s Power for Ukraine Appeal and the BEVA Trust.

BEVA’s junior vice president, Bruce Bladon, is taking part, along with his colleagues from an equine veterinary practice in Newbury.

The three different routes will travel through West Berkshire and Oxfordshire, and participants can choose from:

  • 100 mile route - includes Streatley Hill, which was the venue for the 2020 National Hill Climb Championship
  • 75 mile route - cyclists will take on two of the best climbs in the south of England
  • 40 mile route - suitable for those who haven’t had much training time, but includes two challenging hill climbs

A barbecue awaits the finishers, giving an opportunity to socialise with fellow participants.

The Power to Ukraine Appeal aims to supply the war-torn country with 10 generators that will provide power to help care for displaced and injured horses during enforced power cuts. The initiative is a part of British Equestrians for Ukraine.

The BEVA Trust provides opportunities for members of the veterinary team to volunteer for equine welfare projects, locally and around the world.

Further information can be found online.
