Strangles webinar series announced
The series provides vets with the latest, up-to-date information on strangles vaccines.

The series will provide the latest information on the available vaccines.

A new three-part webinar series on strangles has been announced by Dechra.

Featuring content from the International Equine Diseases Conference (EIDC), the series will update vets on the disease and the strangles vaccines available.

Among the expert speakers include Andrew Waller, chief scientific officer at Intervacc AB in Stockholm, who will speak on 'Strangles diagnosis, control and vaccination'.

Francesco Righetti, postdoctoral researcher at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, will deliver a talk on the 'functional activities of antibody responses following vaccination of ponies.'

The final presentation will be delivered by Sarah Frosth, doctor of philosophy at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences SLU, entitled ‘Conservation of antigen sequences across a global population of S. equi’.

Sara Barker, equine field support manager at Dechra, said: “The Dechra Academy strangles vaccination webinar series provides vets with the latest, up-to-date information on strangles vaccines in an easy-to-watch format that can be viewed at their convenience.

“There is now over seven hours of equine content on the platform ensuring that vets can upskill on a range of topics including ‘Equine pain, recognition and management’ and ‘How to perform intra-articular (joint) injections in the equine limb’.”

The webinars are being hosted by the Dechra Academy, with each one lasting between 10 and 15 minutes.
