Product recall alert for ketamine anaesthetic
A batch of Anesketin 100 mg/ml solution for injection has been recalled owing to vial closure integrity.

Dechra Ltd initiates Class 1 recall for a single batch of Anesketin solution for injection.

The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) has issued a product defect recall alert for Anesketin 100 mg/ml solution for injection manufactured by Dechra Ltd.

In a news release, the VMD writes: 'We wish to make wholesalers and veterinary surgeons aware that Dechra Ltd has initiated a Class I recall to veterinary level with immediate effect for batch 140461 of Anesketin 100 mg/ml solution for injection for dogs, cats and horses.

'The reason for the recall is a compromised closure of the vials. Dechra Ltd is contacting wholesale dealers and veterinary surgeons to examine inventory immediately and quarantine products subject to this recall.'

Further information about the recall is available from Dechra's UK Customer Services Team on 01939 211200.
