Firefighters hoist horse from swimming pool

It is unclear how he ended up there.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service received an unusual call on Sunday 4 September, after a horse fell into a swimming pool.

At around 8pm, crews from Wrentham, Halesworth and Lowestoft arrived at the scene in Blythburgh. Halesworth to help the horse out of the pool.

The horse in question is a 26-year-old male with white and grey markings, and his motivation for ending up in the pool remains unclear, perhaps he fancied a night-time swim?

Thankfully, the crews were able to work together with a local veterinary surgeon to get the horse back onto dry land.

Specialist animal rescue equipment, along with a Unimog crane, were used to carefully lift him to safety, and after the ordeal, the Lowestoft Community Fire Stations shared the unique 'tail' on Facebook
