Raw feeding webinar to be held
"Our latest CPD webinar will help to educate and present a balanced view" - Paul Lymer.
Free webinar will provide information for veterinary professionals.

HORIBA has announced that its next veterinary educational webinar will focus on raw feeding.

Taking place on 7 July 2022, 'Raw Feeding part II – Bacteriological Risks and Benefits in Companion Animals' will provide veterinary professionals with the opportunity to learn more about this controversial topic, to assist with advising pet owners on the matter.

Dr Conor O'Halloran will give the online presentation, followed by a Q&A session on the topic.

Paul Lymer, veterinary business manager at HORIBA explained: “Veterinary teams are in a unique position when it comes to supporting and advising owners on day-to-day care.

“However, they cannot dictate what owners must feed their pets.

“We appreciate though that raw feeding is definitely a topic which prompts discussion amongst both veterinary staff and pet owners.

“So, our latest CPD webinar will help to educate and present a balanced view, ensuring that although the choice remains with the owner on what to feed, veterinary staff are armed with the knowledge to help them do so safely.”

Dr O'Halloran will offer support and information on keeping pets and humans safe when using raw feed diets, and will discuss the main pathogens that can create problems, as well as zoonotic diseases and the potential risk to owners. Possible benefits of a raw food diet will also be explored.

The webinar will take place at 7.30pm on 7 July, and is free to attend. Anyone wishing to attend can visit this website for registration and further information.
