RCVS opens applications for VetGDP peer reviewers
VetGDP Advisers can apply via the RCVS My Account, and selecting the areas they would be interested in reviewing for.
Applicants will need to be VetGDP Advisers.

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) has opened up applications for peer reviewers to support the work of the Vet Graduate Development Programme (VetGDP).

Any VetGDP Adviser who has completed the online learning, and is also ideally supporting a graduate, can apply to be a VetGDP peer reviewer. 

Peer reviewers will be responsible for reviewing and providing feedback on completed anonymised e-portfolio submissions from graduates enrolled onto the programme. On reviewing each e-portfolio, the peer reviewer will consider the graduate's reflections and feedback relating to each of the VetGDP Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs), to ensure that the graduate has met the appropriate success criteria. 

Dr Linda Prescott-Clements, RCVS director of education, commented on the role: “This is a great opportunity for members of the profession to play a key role in supporting the development of new veterinary graduates. 

“Reviewers will be supported throughout the process by the Education Team. 

“Reviewing applications will also go towards peer reviewers’ annual CPD requirements and will give them the opportunity to learn more about graduate experiences of the workplace.”

VetGDP Advisers can apply to become peer reviewers by logging into their RCVS My Account, registering their interest, and indicating which areas they would like to review for, companion animal, farm animal, equine, mixed or government.
