BSAVA publishes sustainability resources
"It is increasingly important that we ensure sustainable working in small animal practice" - Carl Gorman, junior vice president, BSAVA.
The new collection is free to read throughout December.

The BSAVA is highlighting the importance of sustainability over the month of December, with a new 'sustainability in practice' collection added to the BSAVA Library.

Complimenting the work of the BSAVA Sustainability Working Group (SWG), the collection aims to inspire veterinary professionals to make their practices more environmentally friendly.

In the introduction to the collection, the BSAVA said: “The International Institute for Sustainability defines sustainability as 'meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs'.

“This Sustainability collection brings together BSAVA resources to help highlight and inspire us as to why sustainability really matters and how we can make a difference.”

Articles in the collection include topics such as 'One Heath, One Planet: why sustainability is a necessity', 'What does environmentally friendly look like in practice' and 'Anaesthesia without isoflurane', alongside companion interviews and case studies.

Junior vice president of the BSAVA and SWG Chair, Carl Gorman, said of the new collection: “We are pleased to have created this collection of resources for veterinary professionals.

“It is increasingly important that we ensure sustainable working in small animal practice, and we hope that this collection highlights some of the ways in which staff can really make a difference in their practice.”

The collection is accessible here, and will be freely available to read in the BSAVA Library throughout December 2021.
