Medicines seized from livestock breeder in Plymouth
The charges were all for the possession of an unauthorised veterinary medicinal product.
Element Bully's Ltd found guilty of the possession of unauthorised products.

The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) has published details of a seizure notice served to a livestock breeder in Plymouth in accordance with regulations.

On 5 October 2020, Mr Michael Roy Dawson was charged and found guilty of five offences under the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013. His company, Element Bully's Ltd was also charged and found guilty of the same five offences.

The charges were all for the possession of an unauthorised veterinary medicinal product. The products being:
  • 2 x 50ml bottles labelled Oxytocin Solution
  • 1 bottle labelled Synulox
  • 1 bottle labelled Noradine 24
  • 1 bottle labelled PG600 Injekcio
  • 5 vials x 10ml labelled Busol.
The VMD writes: 'These products are non-UK veterinary product. They can only be administered to animals under Schedule 4 (Administration of a veterinary medicinal product outside the terms of a marketing authorisation) of the VMR by vets who have the animals under their care and have obtained a Special Import Certificate (SIC) to obtained the product.

'The possession of these products is an offence under regulation 26 (Possession of an unauthorised veterinary medicinal product) of the VMR. The administration of these products is an offence under Regulation 8 (Administration of the product) of the VMR.'

Mr Dawson and Element Bully's Ltd were fined a total of £2030, and all seized medicines are to be forfeited and destroyed.
