WSAVA/FECAVA Congress postponed due to COVID-19
The new dates of the Congress are 21-24 March 2021.
Event will now take place in March 2021.

The joint congress of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) and the Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations (FECAVA) has been postponed until March 2021.

In a letter published on its website, the WSAVA said that it had taken the 'difficult decision' to postpone the Congress due to the coronavirus pandemic. The annual event was originally due to take place in Warsaw, Poland from 23-26 September.

The new dates of the Congress are 21-24 March 2021, and those that have already registered for this year's event will be automatically transferred to the new dates.

The WSAVA writes: 'Because of the COVID-9 pandemic, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone WSAVA/FECAVA 2020 Congress.  Ensuring the safety of our thousands of delegates, speakers and exhibitors from around the world is our absolute priority so, as the health emergency is set to continue for some time, we feel we have no other choice.

'As the new dates fall immediately before the British Small Animal Veterinary Congress (BSAVA) 2021, we are grateful to our friends at BSAVA, who have worked with us to ensure that both of these outstanding veterinary congresses can run successfully.

'We are also collaborating with them on ways to make it cheaper for delegates to attend both events, including offering a combined registration fee, which will be announced soon.'

The WSAVA added: 'We have not taken this decision lightly but you know that WSAVA/FECAVA Congress will be worth the wait! We are still working to refine the state-of-the-art program, which will offer you the latest knowledge from global experts.'
