MPs nominate best campaigns aimed at parliamentarians

The Dogs Trust has won two awards for its communications work with parliamentarians.

Run by ComRes, the Parliamentary Charity Awards recognise charities that lead their field in communicating with parliamentarians. A total of 150 MPs took part in the nominations.

Dogs Trust received the awards for ‘Best Parliamentary Campaign’ and ‘Best Animal Welfare Campaign’. The charity was also shortlisted for the ‘Biggest improvement in its relations with Parliament’ category.

Claire Calder, the charity’s head of public affairs, said: “Given that these are the only Parliamentary awards which are nominated, and judged, by MPs themselves, our successes really are testament to the hard work of the team and charity as a whole.

“We faced tough competition, so it’s fantastic to get recognition for our longstanding work on putting an end to the cruel puppy smuggling trade and many other issues to ensure the welfare of dogs is always taken into consideration by policy makers.”
