The CPD event will take place in Aberystwyth, Wales.
Vets Cymru will offer vets and nurses CPD by the sea
A new CPD event for veterinary surgeons and nurses has been launched by the BSAVA and the Wales Veterinary Science Centre (WVSC).
Vets Cymru is a two day event offering both large animal and small animal ‘CPD by the sea’. Taking place in Aberystwyth on the 28 and 29 June, the event features four streams of clinically-led CPD, an exhibition and a packed social calendar.
Among the speakers include vet David Church, who will be delivering a lecture on small animal medicine endocrinology, and Sue Paterson lecturing on dermatology for vets and nurses. There will also be a half day of equine lectures in the large animal stream, a practical endoscopy event and discussions on antibiotic resistance and medicine control.
On Friday evening, chief veterinary officer for Wales Christianne Glossop will give a welcome address at a drinks reception.
“We are delighted to launch this exciting weekend of CPD by the sea, which has a very Welsh stamp on it and is packed full of interesting content and ideas,” said BSAVA Welsh regional committee chair Kate O’Sullivan.
“This two-day CPD event is the first of its kind in Wales and promises to be a great opportunity to meet up with colleagues to enjoy this beautiful town, which has lots of family-friendly activities to keep the kids occupied as well.”
She continued: “Our core ethos is to meet the needs of veterinary practitioners and nurses in mixed practice, who often work in relative isolation and travel long distances to boost their training. We felt it was important to give a strong Welsh flavour as part of this innovative new event, and we look forward to saying ‘Croeso I bawb!’ (Welcome to all!).”
