Zookeeper sustained ‘traumatic injuries’ - inquest
He offered his condolences to Ms King’s family and friends for what he described as her “tragic” death.
Investigation into Hamerton Zoo death is ongoing

Rosa King, a senior zookeeper who was killed by a tiger at Hamerton Zoo in Cambridgeshire sustained “traumatic injuries”, an inquest has heard.

Ms King died on 29 May after the tiger entered an enclosure with her. A post-mortem examination was carried out on 31 May but an investigation by the police and the council is ongoing to find out how the tiger came into direct contact with her.

David Heming, senior coroner of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, opened the inquest into her death in Huntingdon, BBC News reports. He offered his condolences to Ms King’s family and friends for what he described as her “tragic” death. The inquest has been adjourned until 23 October.

On Monday (5 June), Hamerton Zoo Park confirmed they would not euthanise the tiger. The zoo remains closed to the public.
