Equine health initiative launches
The initiative aims to translate all available research on the most common health and performance-limiting problems.

Initiative aims to review and translate the latest research

A new health initiative for racehorses and other equines has been launched at the National Equine Forum, London.

The Thoroughbred Health Network is a collaborative project of industry stakeholder organisations. Its mission is to:

  • Optimise the health of the racehorse and other equines
  • Establish a network of those whose common goal is to minimise the impact of equine injury and disease
  • Translate all available research on the most common health and performance-limiting problems into easily understandable tips to maximise the health of horses in training in GB

Those who are involved with the equine industry, whether practically, officially or academically, are invited to subscribe to the network free of charge.

‘We endeavour to deliver the latest understanding from veterinary research in a digestible format that could be implemented into practice,’ reads a notice on its website.

‘As a member, you will be able to contribute your opinions and ask questions that will be answered by the key network collaborator whom holds the most expertise in that area, whether veterinary or practical.’

For full details on the network and information on joining can be found at thoroughbredhealthnetwork.co.uk.
