Supermarket recalls batch of Choceur Treasures
Discount supermarket Aldi has recalled packs of its chocolate after Salmonella was found in one batch.
Salmonella was detected in a batch of Choceur Treasures, described as whole hazelnut wrapped in waffle and milk chocolate.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued a product recall information notice for 200g packs of the chocolate with the best before date September 1, 2015.
FSA says the product was for sale in the Midlands region only and no other Choceur or Aldi products are known to be affected.
Recall notices are on display in the affected Aldi stores to explain to customers why the product has been recalled and how to get a refund.
Consumers who have bought the product are advised not to eat it, but return it to the nearest Aldi store.
Salmonella bacteria can affect meat, eggs, poultry and milk. Symptoms of infection include diarrhoea, stomach cramps and sometimes vomiting and fever.
