Poll reveals the nation's favourite dogs

The much-loved Andrex puppy has been voted the UK's top dog in a poll by the Dogs Trust. The top five favourites are mainly brand dogs, which shows that advertising has a greater influence on the British public than ever before.

Thirty per cent of people to take part in the survey voted the Andrex puppy as their favourite pooch, closely followed by the Dulux dog, which received 14 per cent of the vote.

The UK's top 10 dogs were:

6. Clifford the big red dog
7. The Queen's corgis
8. Lupo - Prince William and Kate's dog
