Britain’s "Chatty Man" stars in new PETA advert

TV personality Alan Carr stars in a new advert for PETA urging fans to help eradicate the dog and cat overpopulation crisis proclaiming the best way to save animals lives is to spay or neuter.

The homeless-animal overpopulation problem is at crisis point; one unspayed female cat and her kittens can produce 370,000 cats in just seven years, and an unneutered male can help create limitless litters of kittens.

Every year in the UK, thousands of animals are left at animal shelters and many have to be euthanised because there simply aren't enough good homes for them. Other animals are abandoned on the streets, left to starve to death and are at risk of getting injured or killed by vehicles, some even fall prey to abuse.

Alan Carr comments: "There's no magic wand that will find homes for all of Britain's homeless dogs and cats, but simple surgeries – spaying and neutering – will make a huge difference in the long run.”

Spaying and neutering hits the overpopulation crisis at the source. It also makes animals less likely to develop cancer of the reproductive system, get into fights and become infected with deadly, contagious diseases such as feline leukaemia and feline AIDS.
 
Alan Carr is among a growing list of celebrities supporting this issue, others backing the project and promoting spaying and neutering include Morrissey, Simon Cowell, Jane Lynch, Bill Maher, Cloris Leachman, Marc Maron, Charlize Theron, Naughty Boy and Mickey Rourke.
