RCVS president Neil Smith is among four candidates seeking re-election.

President and vice among four seeking re-election

The list of candidates in the RCVS election has been released with both the president Neil Smith, and vice president Jacqueline Molyneux seeking another four year term from July.

They are among four of the 19 candidates seeking re-election, with David Catlow and Christine Shield also hoping to retain their seats on the RCVS council.

There are only six seats up for election with ballot papers being posted on March 19. All votes must be cast either online or by post by 5pm on April 25. Those elected will take their seats at the RCVS annual general meeting in July.

The candidates are: David Bartram; David Catlow, Camilla Edwards, Caroline Foakes, Edward Gilams, Mandisa Greene, David Leicester, Thomas Lonsdale, Susan Macaldowie, Jacqueline Molyneux, Peter Moore, Sarah Oxley, Susan Paterson, Christopher Pearson, Katherine Richards, Janet Ritchie, Peter Robinson, Christine Shield and Neil Smith.

Last year's list had only 13 candidates, none of which were women. This year there are more women than men.

Candidates have also been announced for the Veterinary Nurse Council of which two seats will be available.

They include Hilary Orpet who is standing for re-election.

The candidates are: Amanda-Jane Erne, Tammy Ford, Hilary Orpet, Amber Richards and Megan Whitehead.
