All eyes will be on the second joint VPMA/SPVS Congress as it gets underway on Friday, January 31 and Saturday, February 1 – and MRCVSonline will be there reporting on all the developments that take place.

We will bring you the latest news and innovations from the world of practice management, as well as opportunities to join in topical debates via our Twitter account, click here to follow all the action.

The congress, which will be held at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, is set to include a number of top speakers.

Among them is Tracey Killen, HR and board director of the John Lewis Group, on what a veterinary practice can learn from the retail giant. Tracey will talk on the skills involved in managing people, championing customer service, and staff remuneration.

Other speakers include award winning US speaker Katherine Eitel on leadership and training that sticks, and TV vet Marc Abraham with tips for marketing your practice.

Pam Mosedale from the RCVS will also speak on the future of the Practice Standards Scheme (PSS), and how an ongoing review hopes to give more flexibility and focus to behaviours and clinical outcomes.

There will also be an array of exhibition stands including AT Veterinary Systems (stand 44) who will be offering a video camera as a prize to delegates who correctly answer a question about one of their products.

The congress also features the annual general meetings of both the VPMA and SPVS.
