Hearing Dogs puppy needs a name
Suggestions sought for black Labrador puppy

After raising £16,700 for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, Vet Charity Challenge has been honoured with the opportunity to name a new Hearing Dogs puppy.

On September 28, 53 teams of four took part in Vet Charity Challenge, spending the day running, cycling, kayaking and orienteering, alongside a range of mental tasks. A total of £50,000 was raised for three charities - Hearing Dogs, SPANA and Animals Asia.

Jason Rogers from BCF Technology said: “The folks at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People were so delighted that they have offered us the opportunity to name one of their new puppies. We would like to ask competitors and others in the veterinary profession for their suggestions for the name."

The puppy is expected to be a black Labrador, with the litter due to be born around January 7. Vet Charity Challenge are looking to the veterinary profession to help choose boy, girl and unisex names as the sex of the puppy is unknown.

Deborah Bourne, corporate fundraiser from Hearing Dogs said: "We would like to say a huge thank you to all the sponsors and competitors who got involved with this year’s inspirational Vet Charity Challenge!

"Thanks to the determination, team spirit and generosity of everyone who took part, the money raised from this fantastic event will enable us to train more life changing hearing dogs to support deaf adults and children across the UK. We look forward to seeing your suggestions for the puppy name."

Suggestions for the puppy's name can be posted on the Vet Charity Challenge Facebook page. The deadline for ideas is January 7.
