London Vet Show kicks off
Delegates head to event in their thousands

Thousands of veterinary professionals have packed into the Grand Hall Olympia for this year's London Vet Show, which offers new farm and equine streams programmed by the BVA.

The first morning of the event has seen crowds of delegates streaming into the venue to enjoy the wide range of stands, showcasing the latest ground-breaking veterinary products and launches - as well as the selection of cupcakes, sweets and champagne on offer.

After a welcoming speech from BVA president Robin Hargreaves, this year's lecture programme began, with a little something for everyone - ranging from the challenge of shelter medicine and dealing with complications in dentistry, to Google analytics 101.

Partner at Vet Dynamics LLP, Alan Robinson, also provided a session on surviving in a corporate world, giving delegates the low-down on the strengths and weaknesses of both corporate and independent businesses.

By lunchtime, the hall was bustling with delegates and VNonline headed to VetCT for a demonstration of its innovative new 3D printing service, which involves creating a 3D solid object from digital images for use in diagnostics.

Far from winding down, delegates at the show can look forward to an afternoon packed with learning and CPD opportunities...

Some of the new farm and equine lectures this afternoon are set to include the vet's guide to responsible drug prescription and wound management in horses, as well as small animal sessions on the past, present and future of epilepsy treatment and dealing with rehomed animals.
