Appeal launched after four dead cats found
"Bagged" bodies of cats may be related

AN APPEAL for information has been launched by the RSPCA after the bodies of four cats were found.

The four bodies were found in individual plastic bags on a playing field in Broxtowe, Nottingham. The cats had been individually placed in Morrisons plastic shopping bags, and were found by a member of the public who contacted the RSPCA.

The bodies were found on the morning of Sunday November 10, on Woodfield Park Recreation Ground, Woodfield Road, Broxtowe, Nottingham.
RSPCA Inspector Tina McAdam attended the incident and took the bodies to a vet for a preliminary examination.  She said:
“The cause of death is still being investigated at the moment, it is estimated that the cats are likely to have been dead for around a day.
“We are also assuming the cats may be related, and there is a chance that they could have all come from the same property. They were all in good bodily condition."
“I would appeal to anyone who may recognise the description of the cats, or who may know where they have come from to contact me in confidence."
One cat was a white and black entire male that was wearing a black plastic collar, the second was a black adult entire male, the third a black adult entire male and the fourth a black female that was wearing a black plastic collar – it is also thought she may recently have given birth to kittens.
