Nominations open for Petplan Veterinary Awards
'Oscars of the veterinary world' to take place in April 2014

Nominations are now open for the much anticipated Petplan Veterinary Awards 2014, also known as the "Oscars of the veterinary world".

Now in its fifteenth year, the awards ceremony recognises members of the veterinary profession who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in their daily role.

Last year, a record smashing 11,000 nominations were sent by clients and veterinary staff alike, a true testament to the fantastic work that goes on in veterinary practices across the UK.

Taking place at Birmingham Town Hall on April 3, 2014, the awards will recognise professionals across six categories: Vet of the Year, Vet Nurse of the Year, Vet Practice of the Year, Vet Support Staff of the Year, Practice Manager of the Year and Petplan Insurance Advisor of the Year.

Winner of last year's Vet of the Year award, Laura Pugh from Ashfield House Veterinary Hospital, said: "Winning the award meant the world to me. It felt great to know that my dedication to Ashfield House was appreciated, and that my clients were happy.

"There are so many talented vets out there so it was a huge honour for me to be named Vet of the Year!"

To nominate a friend or colleague, visit www.petplanvet.co.uk, where information is also available on marketing support to help your practice encourage clients to nominate members of your team. Nominations close on Friday, January 31, 2014.
