Back to basics with new BSAVA manual
Radiography text aimed at students, nurses and new graduates

A new manual published by the BSAVA goes back to the basics of radiography and radiology, aiming to improve confidence in radiographic imaging.

Intended as an introductory text, the BSAVA Manual of Canine and Feline Radiography and Radiology has been created for veterinary students, nurses and new graduates.

This publication breaks the trend of many of the more specialist manuals covering ultrasonography and abdominal, musculoskeletal and thoracic imaging that have been published in recent years.

The text provides a comprehensive review of the approach to radiological interpretation as well as key fundamental principles and their application to common disease.

Topics covered within the pages include:
  • Physics and equipment
  • Principles of radiography
  • Principles of radiological interpretation
  • Contrast radiography
  • Radiology of the thorax, abdomen, head, vertebral column and appendicular skeleton
Also featured are illustrations demonstrating patient positioning and high quality radiographic reproductions showing normal anatomy and the key aspects of interpretation.

An accompanying CD contains all of the radiographic images seen in the manual, so that they can be viewed at a larger size.

The manual was written by Andrew Holloway and Fraser McConnell, both of whom are European specialists in veterinary diagnostic imaging and have extensive experience in radiographic imaging.

The manual will be available from October and can be ordered here.
