RCVS Codes of Conduct available as free apps
App makes vet and VN professional codes of conduct easy to access

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons has launched a free app for the RCVS Codes of Professional Conduct for veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses. The app can be downloaded on both Android and Apple devices.

The app provides smartphone and tablet users with a mobile-friendly version of the codes and all 27 supporting chapters in their pockets. The codes will be available even when the device is offline with no network connection.

Whenever a code is updated, users will be able to download the latest version the next time their device is online.

The app allows users to access supporting guidance for the codes and has a keyword search facility. It contains links to other information and contact details for obtaining further advice via telephone or email.

Head of communications, Lizzie Lockett, said: “Our new app provides easy access to the codes, so busy veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses can now keep our guidance to hand, even when out and about. It’s never been easier to ensure that you’re always working to the code’s principles of veterinary practice and professional responsibilities.”

To install the app on an Apple device, visit the appropriate RCVS code web page in Safari, click on the app link in the code tool box on the right-hand side and follow the  instructions. To install on an Android device visit Google Play and search for “RCVS code”.

The full codes and all supporting guidance may also be downloaded in pdf format from the RCVS website. The codes are date-stamped to mark when they were downloaded.
