Annual donation given to veterinary library

BSAVA presents manuals to RCVS Knowledge

The British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) has presented its latest manuals to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Knowledge.

Previously named RCVS Charitable Trust, RCVS Knowledge is a charity and small funder of veterinary research, with a freely accessible library for the veterinary community.

Keeping up with a tradition that has taken place over 45 years, the BSAVA presented its latest manuals to the charity during the RCVS day, held at London's Royal College of Physicians.

The BSAVA's latest contribution to the RCVS library are:

  • BSAVA Manual of Canine and Feline Neurology, 4th edition
  • BSAVA Manual of Exotic Pet and Wildlife Nursing
  • BSAVA Manual of Feline Practice
  • BSAVA Manual of Small Animal Practice Management and Development
  • BSAVA Pocketbook for Veterinary Nurses
  • BSAVA Pocketbook for Vets
  • How to… collected articles from BSAVA companion

Professor Michael Day, president of the BSAVA, said: "No veterinary library, however large or small, would be complete without its share of BSAVA manuals, and I am delighted to present our latest titles to the RCVS library so that they can be available to everyone."

He added that the library is a great facility for the profession and said it's an honour to contribute to the vast knowledge contained within its walls.

Commenting on how grateful RCVS Knowledge is for the BSAVA manuals, the charity's librarian, Clare Boulton, said: "This annual donation, made in memory of Mr A Noel Ormrod since 1967, now amounts to over 300 books and forms a strong foundation to the small animal knowledge held within our library."
