New focus for RCVS Charitable Trust
Nick Royle, RCVS
Charity supports evidence based veterinary medicine

The RCVS Charitable Trust has announced it is relaunching as RCVS Knowledge,
with a new focus on supporting evidence based veterinary medicine (EBVM) across the globe.

The charity has been a small funder of veterinary research for the past 50 years, as well as  home to the only library for the UK veterinary community that is freely accessible.

Explaining the rebrand, the charity's executive director Nick Royle, said: "RCVS Knowledge is a name that encompasses our three core offerings: historical knowledge, represented by our valuable Historical Collection, present knowledge, represented by our library, and future knowledge, represented by the new evidence based veterinary medicine project."

As well as a name change, the Historical Collection will be made available online, and the Grants and Awards program will be altered to celebrate professional excellence and tackle gaps in veterinary knowledge.

Furthermore, the Library and Information Service will be transformed into a resource to drive innovation and EBVM on a global scale.

Nick concludes: "We are aware of the responsibilities that veterinary surgeons and nurses face every day and feel we are in a position to support their decision making.

"We would like to urge every veterinary professional with an interest in EBVM, a curiosity about the history of their profession or a need to access up-to-date research to get in touch, so that we can keep you up to date with developments."
