Registered Veterinary Nurse (part-time) — Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire

Witham View Vets in Woodall Spa is seeking a permanent, part-time RVN due to its expanding client base.

The basic hours would be 8.30-18.00, Thursday and Friday. Additional, optional hours would include Saturday mornings (8.30-12.30) on a roughly 1 in 5 rota, and holiday cover.

This is a friendly, independent small animal practice in a quiet, village location. There are currently four RVNs, four vets, three receptionists and one animal care assistant.

BUPA membership and RCVS fee are paid and CPD is supported and encouraged.

The successful candidate will hold a diploma of higher education in veterinary nursing and have at least one year’s experience working as a veterinary nurse.

The expected hours of this role are 20-24 per week, with pay from £14 per hour. In return, Witham View offers a company pension, employee discount, on-site parking, private medical insurance, and sick pay.

RVNs are a valued and integral part of the Witham View team. The practice operates on a rota to ensure its nurses get to work in all areas. On a standard day there would be a theatre nurse, inpatient/floater nurse (who would help with bloods, IVs, prepping for surgery etc), and a nurse on nurse consults (which include pre and post op checks, weight clinics, puppy and kitten checks, 2nd vaccines, librela/cytopoint, nail clips).

If you are interested, please send your CV and a covering letter outlining your experience to enquiries@withamviewvets.co.uk

  • Practices urged to audit neutering data
Blog SpotRCVS Knowledge has called on vet practices to audit their post-operative neutering outcomes.

It follows the release of the 2024 NASAN benchmarking report, which collates data from neutering procedures performed on dogs, cats and rabbits.

The benchmarking report enables practices in the UK and Ireland to compare their post-operative outcomes to the national average. This includes the rate of patients lost to follow-up, which in 2024 increased to 23 per cent.

Anyone from the practice can submit the data using a free template. The deadline for next report is February 2026.

Visit the RCVS Knowledge website to complete an audit.
