Are you a dedicated and caring vet looking for an opportunity to make a real difference in your local community?

Jarden Vets in Buckinghamshire is seeking an experienced vet to join their team on a full-time basis.

This is a new, independent, first opinion small animal practice opening in September this year. The practice is based in the pretty market town of Olney, North Buckinghamshire.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, a strong commitment to animal welfare and have a compassionate and empathetic approach to patients and carers. This role also requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.

An enthusiastic, proactive approach to work and a desire to contribute to the success of the practice are essential. You should be comfortable in consulting and performing routine surgical procedures and happy to participate in an out-of-hours rota if required.

In return, Jarden Vets offers a salary of up to £65k per annum depending on experience, 5 weeks holiday allowance (pro rata plus bank holidays), CPD allowance and support for professional development. It also offers a friendly and supportive team environment, paid RCVS and VDS fees, and the option to enrol in a company share scheme.

Jarden Vets is committed to providing excellent patient care and staying up-to-date with the latest veterinary advancements. It also believes in a healthy work-life balance for its team.

If you are interested, please send your CV and a covering letter outlining your experience to steve@jardenvets.co.uk.

  • Practices urged to audit neutering data
Blog SpotRCVS Knowledge has called on vet practices to audit their post-operative neutering outcomes.

It follows the release of the 2024 NASAN benchmarking report, which collates data from neutering procedures performed on dogs, cats and rabbits.

The benchmarking report enables practices in the UK and Ireland to compare their post-operative outcomes to the national average. This includes the rate of patients lost to follow-up, which in 2024 increased to 23 per cent.

Anyone from the practice can submit the data using a free template. The deadline for next report is February 2026.

Visit the RCVS Knowledge website to complete an audit.
