Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon — Holmfirth, West Yorkshire


Holme Veterinary Centre is looking for an enthusiastic small animal veterinary surgeon to join its two-vet team. It is an RCVS-accredited general practice and a VN training practice.

Located in the countryside town of Holmfirth, this independent practice has easy access to Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield, as well as the stunning Peak District and Dales.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and will be keen to work up cases. The friendly practice team is willing to provide support if needed.

New graduates are welcome to apply.

This position involves a 40 hour week, with no weekend work or out-of-hours.

In return, Holme Veterinary Centre can offer a competitive salary, a generous CPD allowance and 28 days’ holiday (including bank holidays). RCVS and VDS fees are paid and you can also benefit from the practice’s staff discount scheme.

  • FIVP announces third series of Practice Matters
    Blog SpotThe Federation of Independent Veterinary practices (FIVP) has announced a third season of its podcast, Practice Matters.

    Hosted by Ian Wolstenholme, series three will focus on the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) investigation, including a discussion about some of the expected impacts on independent veterinary colleagues.

    Episode one launches on 13th January with guests Drs David Reader and Scott Summers, who will draw on their research into the CMA investigation and provide insights into themes such as transparency, pricing and consumer trust.

    Ian Wolstenholme said: "In its third series, we will try and hone in on what the changes will mean in reality for independent practices with advice and guidance on implementation and delivery, drawing on the experience of our own team and other experts in the profession. Hope you can join us soon!"
