Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Full-time or Part-time – Redruth, Cornwall

Cornwall Animal Hospital is looking for a veterinary surgeon to join its growing team.

The practice offers low cost treatment to clients from all walks of life, with further discount available to those on low income. The practice is financially supported by six charity shops at various locations in Cornwall. This unique charity model allows costs to be kept as low as possible for clients and allows us to offer a treatment option for all animals, which otherwise may not have access to care.

There are exciting plans in the pipeline for an extension of the practice in the near future as our client base is rapidly growing and the need for low cost care in Cornwall is increasing.

We are building our clinical team and making improvements under the direction of a new clinical lead and you can be a part of this process. We are looking for good all-round general practitioners, but also vets with special skills and interests in medicine, imaging and surgery, as a lot of what we do is in house.

We hold regular clinical and practice meetings, which allow plenty of opportunity for case discussion and improvement of protocols. The diary is well managed, with book-on-day appointments and ample time for procedures to allow for a pleasant working environment.

There is an emphasis on wellbeing and we encourage lunch breaks (30 minutes or 1 hour) and getting home to your loved ones on time. Any overtime worked (including missed lunches!) can be claimed back as time in lieu.

The Saturday rota would be 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (this would be reduced as we expand). Hours are 8.30am to 12.30pm and these hours are also claimed back as time in lieu. There is the option for flexible working hours. Full or part-time working requests are welcomed. No OOH shifts are required.

We welcome informal chats or just a look around the practice. Please get in touch with Uwe on 01209 313 214 or via email uwe.cah@aol.com
