Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon (Part-time) — Cardiff, South Wales


Cardiff Veterinary Centre, an independent practice in the heart of the Welsh capital, is seeking a part-time veterinary surgeon.

This state-of-the-art small animal practice opened in 2023, and has excellent diagnostic equipment, a full digital X-ray and an in-house laboratory. There is a friendly team environment, and everyone is passionate about pets.

The practice is happy to consider applicants from every background – whether you’re an experienced vet, a new graduate, or a locum vet. The team encourages professional growth and development, offering a CPD allowance and support with gaining additional certification.

You must be MRCVS-accredited, however VDS and RCVS fees will be paid.

You will also receive a generous salary, five weeks’ holiday and your birthday off!

  • New guidelines published for wildlife disease surveillance
    Blog SpotA set of international guidelines for disease surveillance in wildlife has been updated for the first time since 2015.

    Released by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and the World Organisation for Animal Health, General Guidelines for Surveillance of Diseases, Pathogens and Toxic Agents in Free-ranging Wildlife is designed to help wildlife authorities and others working with wildlife carry out effective surveillance programmes.

    The document, which cover areas including choosing appropriate strategies, safety and biosafety protocols, and ethical and legal considerations, can be read here.
