Veterinary Referral Twilight Nurses (full-time) – South Tyneside


Bridge Referrals, an independent referral centre in the North East of England, is seeking highly motivated veterinary nurses to join its Twilight Nursing Department. The role would suit passionate and enthusiastic RVNs with experience within the veterinary referral environment.

This is a full-time opportunity, where your shifts will cover both afternoon and evening work and involve all aspects of nursing care for inpatients. Ideally, candidates will be able to work well under pressure and independently. The ability to collaborate as part of a team and thrive in the varied environment of a veterinary referral hospital is essential.

Successful applicants must commit to a rolling rota of 40 hours per week (38 hours, half-hour paid lunch per 10-hour shift), including weekend and bank holiday shifts. Training and support will be offered in unfamiliar areas.

Required skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Adapt well and have the ability to learn
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Highly motivated to provide the best quality patient care
  • Confident when speaking to clients
  • Ability to work at a fast pace under pressure
  • Competent IT skills

    Blog SpotA set of international guidelines for disease surveillance in wildlife has been updated for the first time since 2015.

    Released by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and the World Organisation for Animal Health, General Guidelines for Surveillance of Diseases, Pathogens and Toxic Agents in Free-ranging Wildlife is designed to help wildlife authorities and others working with wildlife carry out effective surveillance programmes.
