Referral Veterinary Nurses – Night (full-time) – South Tyneside


Bridge Referrals in South Tyneside is on the lookout for highly motivated veterinary referral night nurses to join their busy independent referral hospital.

This full-time position will involve all aspects of nursing care for inpatients. The ideal candidate will work well under pressure and manage tasks independently. A collaborative spirit and the ability to thrive in the varied environment of a veterinary referral hospital are essential.

The successful applicants must be able to commit to a rolling rota of 40 hours per week (38 hours, half-hour paid lunch per 10-hour shift), including weekend and bank holiday shifts. Training and support will be offered in areas that are unfamiliar.

Skills, knowledge and experience:

  • A proactive attitude and motivation to work independently
  • Adapt well and have the ability to learn
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Highly motivated to provide the best quality patient care
  • Confident when speaking to clients
  • Ability to work at a fast pace under pressure
  • Competent IT skills

    Released by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and the World Organisation for Animal Health, General Guidelines for Surveillance of Diseases, Pathogens and Toxic Agents in Free-ranging Wildlife is designed to help wildlife authorities and others working with wildlife carry out effective surveillance programmes.
