Mixed or Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon (Full or Part-time) - Angus

This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced mixed or small animal vet to join a semi-rural independent practice in Forfar at the foot of the beautiful Angus Glens.

You can look forward to a warm welcome from our diverse team who will introduce you to what the local area has to offer, including a host of outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, cycling and wild swimming. For those who enjoy city life we are 20 minutes drive from Dundee, and 40 minutes from Aberdeen and Perth.

Our team includes 8 vets (3 part-time), 5 RVNs (2 part-time), 2 ACAs and 6 receptionists/admin staff. The director is a full-time working vet and we do not have sales targets or shareholders. The happiness and well-being of our team is very important, their opinions are valued and discussions and requests are always welcomed.

Our surgery is well equipped, with new digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, multi-parameter monitor, well-equipped lab and SA theatre, endoscope, equine stocks, good equine dental equipment and fertility testing etc.

The workload is split 40% SA, 30% EQ and 30% LA. A full-time rota includes a 4 day week plus 1 in 5 weekends on call. Our day runs from 8:30 to 6pm with dedicated admin time and a decent lunch break.

  • Competitive salary dependent on experience
  • 30 days annual leave including public holidays
  • RCVS fees, VDS, BVA cover as standard with other memberships an option
  • No fixed budget for CPD – come and discuss it and we'll make it work
