Mixed Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Llandrindod Wells

Ddole Road Veterinary Clinic is seeking a veterinary surgeon to join their vibrant and friendly independent mixed practice in Llandrindod Wells, Wales in early 2025 - voted the happiest town in Wales to live in for the third year running.

The job is a truly mixed position, with 50 per cent small animal, 50 per cent beef suckler and sheep, and a small amount of horse work, with the opportunity to specialise in a field of interest, so you'll never be bored.

Full-time or part-time and flexible working can be considered for the role. OOH is 1 in 5 weeknights and 1 in 5 weekends on call.

The salary bracket is £35,000 to £60,000 depending on experience, and CPD is both encouraged and supported.

You will be joining a welcoming and supportive team of nine experienced veterinary surgeons, with a talented and supportive team of veterinary nurses and support staff. The practice has recently had a new extension with meeting room, new kennelling facilities, dedicated dental facilities and laboratory. We have a wide variety of modern equipment, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab, handhelds for TB testing, easy-scan and farm animal fertility testing equipment. We aim to provide high quality treatment for all our patients large and small.

Covering a large rural area of breathtaking scenery we are based in a friendly market town, with plenty opportunities for outdoor pursuits, sport, music and the arts.

  • Antibiotic Amnesty survey opens
Blog SpotThe Responsible Use of Medicines Alliance - Companion Animal and Equine (RUMA - CA&E) has launched a survey which seeks to measure the success of this year's Antibiotic Amnesty campaign.

Its results will help the group to calculate how many unused or out-of-date antibiotics were returned as part of the campaign throughout November. Practices are also asked how they engaged with clients to raise awareness of the issue.

Participating practices can enter a prize draw to win up to 100 in vouchers for taking part. Further prizes from BSAVA and Webinar Vet will be available for practices with the best input.

The survey takes a few minutes to complete and will be running throughout December. It can be accessed via this link.
