A batch of Anesketin 100 mg/ml solution for injection has been recalled owing to vial closure integrity.
Dechra Ltd initiates Class 1 recall for a single batch of Anesketin solution for injection.
The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) has issued a product defect recall alert for Anesketin 100 mg/ml solution for injection manufactured by Dechra Ltd.
In a news release, the VMD writes: 'We wish to make wholesalers and veterinary surgeons aware that Dechra Ltd has initiated a Class I recall to veterinary level with immediate effect for batch 140461 of Anesketin 100 mg/ml solution for injection for dogs, cats and horses.
'The reason for the recall is a compromised closure of the vials. Dechra Ltd is contacting wholesale dealers and veterinary surgeons to examine inventory immediately and quarantine products subject to this recall.'
